Measurement.network is a project built to address issues in academic network measurements.
The project is supposed to:
- Provide the necessary measurement infrastructure to conduct active measurements, especially for measurements not feasible with platforms like RIPE Atlas.
- Provide ethical and feasibility review, via a mixed panel of industry domain experts and academics.
- Aid researchers in the open-data publication of their results and measurement artifacts.
- Assist artifact review processes by providing replication infrastructure anonymously.
It should do so as an independent entity.
Currently, the project is being setup and not yet independent. We believe that it will become easier to find an independent organization to handle governance of the project if its usefulness has been demonstrated.
